While Longleigh officially launched in January 2017, our work began in 2016. Here are a few of the projects we have supported to date - please also see our Case Studies for more in-depth examples:
We have funded the piloting of a new ‘Recovery Toolkit’ model at Southampton Women’s Refuge. This will help the refuge develop a more sustainable business model as they aim to support women with multiple and increasingly complex issues.
Our funding of a health and well-being project will optimise opportunities for good health amongst over 2,000 older Stonewater residents. We support a network of Health & Well-being Ambassadors, and Ageing Well Volunteers aligned to nine Health Hubs across the country.
Our support for a step-change in the use of digital technology amongst older residents living in Stonewater retirement living schemes aims to address digital exclusion and create opportunities for residents to increase their learning, broaden their social support networks, and access further opportunities. This project has the potential to benefit over 2,000 residents.
The funding of a Healthy Lifestyles Co-ordinator to provide training and support to a number of supported housing schemes, including four Foyers. This project will address the continuing health inequalities amongst economically and socially disadvantaged people.
At local grass-roots level, we recently funded two garden projects, and an arts based project at Retirement Living schemes that address both isolation and inactivity – both issues that can impact upon the mental and physical well-being of older adults.
